Your First Session. During your initial visit, you will be evaluated by a licensed therapist, have a custom treatment plan devised to address your determined deficits and begin treatment that same day. The most effective physical therapy requires an understanding of your condition. By spending time one on one with you at your first session, we can better understand your needs, your pain, and your goals in order to establish an effective treatment plan.

The Lattimore Way. Our staff subscribe to "The Lattimore Way" by taking a "hands on" approach with patients. We really listen to learn about their injuries and goals. We provide personal, individualized care, and work hard to see our patients' succeed. At Lattimore, our Physical Therapists enjoy the work they do, and we bring a positive attitude to our patients' therapy experience. We want our patients' therapy to be something they look forward to ‐ each and every session. If our patients tell their friends and family about their success at Lattimore, we know we've done our job.

A Patient Experience

… Jon Gerenski, Cinical Co-Director

A recent amputee patient contacted me. She'd lost her leg, and been fitted for a prosthetic limb (C-Leg). But things weren't going well, so her physician recommended physical therapy. We met after her husband called, asking if our therapists treat amputees. When people have certain types of medical conditions (like amputations), they often wonder if we can help them. Our answer is a resounding "Yes."

Like many patients, she tried to tackle the issue on her own. Unfortunately, while recovering from the surgery she began to experience pain in her shoulder. When one part of the body isn't performing, other parts take-up the slack. While trying to adjust to her new prosthetic leg she relied on crutches, and exacerbated the shoulder injury. With shoulder pain making crutches unbearable, she really needed help.

We needed to get her mobile again. First, we addressed her biggest problem, correctly using her prosthetic limb, a C-Leg. I contacted her Prosthetist and arranged for him to come to our clinic in Avon. Together, with the patient, we made adjustments to her C-Leg ‐ and how she used it. We also devised a physical therapy plan, to help her adapt and master her prosthetic limb. Within a month or so she was walking without crutches and ready to have surgery to correct her damaged shoulder. The shoulder surgery went well, and we had the pleasure of helping her rehab the shoulder post-operatively too.
